Yacht Clearance information and agent referralsSt. Vincent · English
Port Elizabeth is Bequia’s yacht-entry location, at the head of Admiralty Bay on the island’s leeward side. Its seaport Customs office makes it an option for yachts beginning or ending an SVG cruise in the northern Grenadines. A local partner can coordinate the clearance call alongside the yacht’s anchorage stay and any crew movements.

Local assistance
Local assistance around Admiralty Bay
Bequia combines yacht arrivals with a working waterfront and inter-island passenger movements. The useful local coordination is between the anchored yacht, its people and the seaport authorities.
1
Plan the Port Elizabeth shore connection
The yacht lies in Admiralty Bay while the clearance call is organised around Port Elizabeth. A local partner can align the reporting arrangement with the captain’s intended anchorage or mooring, instead of treating the island’s airport office as the default yacht reception point.
2
Coordinate people joining or leaving
Crew and guests can reach Bequia separately from the yacht, including by inter-island transport. Local assistance can reconcile those movements with the vessel’s arrival or departure record, so a sailing crew list is not confused with a ferry booking or an earlier guest manifest.
3
Support a longer island stay
Bequia is among the locations where Immigration accepts visitor-extension applications. A partner can help establish the requirements for the person concerned and coordinate the local application, potentially avoiding an unnecessary mainland detour while keeping the yacht’s separate Customs position in view.

How a Port Elizabeth clearance call fits a Bequia stay
Use Port Elizabeth as the named clearance location and Admiralty Bay to describe where the yacht will lie. The two describe different parts of the same arrival plan.
Identify the Admiralty Bay arrival
The arrival review connects the proposed bay stay with the previous international port and ETA. If the yacht has already cleared into SVG elsewhere, that should be stated at the outset. The local partner can then distinguish a Bequia visit from a new international entry.
Prepare the seaport appointment
Customs publishes a separate Port Elizabeth seaport schedule, including weekend periods. A local partner can align that office’s attendance with the Immigration work needed for the yacht. Airport opening times are not a substitute for the arrangement receiving the vessel and people from Admiralty Bay.
Complete the international arrival
For a first SVG entry, the captain’s yacht and crew records support the Customs and Immigration formalities at Port Elizabeth. The yacht’s chosen anchorage does not itself provide clearance. Shore activities and onward cruising follow the completed entry arrangement and the permissions granted.
Account for separate passenger movements
If someone arrives by ferry or air to join the yacht, the local partner needs the travel and passport details relevant to that change. The departure crew record should describe who will actually sail, including any guests who have left by another means during the Bequia stay.
Address any extended personal stay
Where an individual’s permission is due to expire, Bequia provides a published Immigration extension option. The application is assessed separately from yacht cruising arrangements. Raising it while planning the stay leaves time to establish the records and appointment needed before the existing permission runs out.
Leave Bequia or leave the country
A move to Mustique or Canouan remains within SVG; a passage to Saint Lucia is international. The intended next stop determines the departure work. For an overseas sailing, the local partner coordinates Port Elizabeth’s outward formalities around the yacht’s actual departure from Admiralty Bay.

Port Elizabeth details for yacht and crew planning
Admiralty Bay is the yacht setting
Port Elizabeth stands on Bequia’s leeward side beside Admiralty Bay, a natural yacht anchorage. The town is the named entry location in official yachting guidance. An enquiry should therefore identify both the clearance destination and the intended position of the yacht in the bay.
A separately listed seaport office
Customs lists Port Elizabeth separately from J. F. Mitchell Airport on Bequia. The seaport’s published schedule includes Saturday and limited Sunday attendance. Those are Customs office details, not a guarantee that every required authority will attend the yacht at the same time or outside those periods.
Local visitor-extension option
Bequia is specifically included in Immigration’s list of places where visitors can apply to extend their permission. This concerns the person’s authorised stay. It does not renew a yacht’s Customs status or replace any condition applying to the vessel during a longer cruise in SVG.
Working waterfront and passenger arrivals
Port Elizabeth’s ferry waterfront also serves inter-island passengers. When a yacht visit includes people arriving or leaving separately, their travel plans must be coordinated with the appropriate yacht record. Clearance of the vessel and the separate journey of a joining crew member are related but distinct matters.

Do yachts clear into Bequia at Port Elizabeth or the airport?
Official yachting guidance names Port Elizabeth, and Customs lists a dedicated seaport office there. The yacht’s arrangement should be based on that call, rather than assuming the airport’s published hours apply to Admiralty Bay arrivals.
Can Port Elizabeth handle a weekend yacht arrival?
Customs publishes weekend seaport attendance, including shorter Sunday periods. The complete Customs and Immigration arrangement should still be established for the planned arrival time, particularly where the passage depends on same-day completion.
Can I extend my Immigration permission while staying in Bequia?
Yes, Bequia is an identified application location. The officer decides the extension and supporting requirements; the fact that the yacht remains in SVG does not extend the person’s permission automatically.
Does a guest joining by ferry need to appear on the yacht’s departure list?
The sailing record needs to reflect everyone actually aboard for the onward voyage. Tell the local partner about separate passenger arrivals and departures so the appropriate updates can be handled.
Is sailing from Bequia to Mustique an international departure?
No. Both islands are part of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Local visitor and mooring arrangements at Mustique still apply, while an onward passage to a foreign country requires SVG outward clearance.
